GHMS COLONEL CHOIR FALL NOTES

Poinsettia Sale
Colonel Choir will be selling red poinsettias again this year.
We started this fundraiser last year, and the plants were very full and the color was great.
Orders will be taken November 1st through 11th and will be delivered to Good Hope on November 28th.
The plants sell for $10.00 each.
Please check with your employer about ordering plants for the office.
All proceeds from this sale will be used to cover expenses incurred in the production of our WinterFest Madrigal Dinner. Each choir member must sell 5 plants to cover the cost of their costume.

Choir Uniforms
All 7th & 8th Grade Choir uniforms need to be returned to the school so we have pictures taken for the yearbook.
If your child brought home a uniform so it could be altered, please send it back now!
We will be taking group and individual pictures.
Order forms will be sent home the week before pictures are taken.


WinterFest Reservations
Our WinterFest Madrigal Dinner will be held Monday, December 5 and Tuesday, December 6 in the Good Hope Cafeteria.
The dinner will consist of turkey legs (chicken legs for the small children), roast potatoes, green bean bundles, rolls, and bread pudding.
Entertainment will include music, dance, actors, and jousting.
Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $7.00 for children ages 10 and under.
There are only 225 seats available each night, so please return your reservation form as soon as possible.
If you need to reserve now and pay later, that is fine!
Make all checks payable to GHMS Choir.

WinterFest Costumes
Most of our WinterFest costumes have been ordered through The Costume Shop in West Monroe.
We need some help sewing tunics for a lot of the guys’ costumes.
If you are able to sew and would be willing to make 3 or 4 very simple tunics, please contact Mrs. Green.
All girls will need a pair of slipper-type shoes to go with their costume.
A wide variety is now available at Payless, Rack Room Shoes, and Target.
Please get a pair of FLATS—no heel.
Since you do not know what color you costume will be yet, please purchase a neutral color, such as black or gold.

Select Choir will go to Dallas, TX May 5-6. At this time, the first payment has been made, and the remaining $50.00 payments are due as follows: October 28th, February 28th, and March 31st.
Your child may earn money for this trip by selling the McRae’s Benefit tickets. The next McRae’s Benefit Sale is October 28th -29th. Tickets are available now!

Colonel Choir Service Project
Colonel Choir is participating in Operation Christmas Child as our service project.
All boxes are due to the Choir Room by November 7th.
If your child is participating in this project through his or her homeroom, dance line, or cheerleading, they do not need to do another box for Choir.
If your child cannot do a whole box, please send 3 items from the list.

ONE FINAL NOTE
ALL Choir members are required to perform both nights for the WinterFest. This is the semester exam grade for Choir!
