English & Language Arts
Mood:  incredulous
Now Playing: Week of September 19 - 23, 2005
Yea!!! I'm finally back on the homework blog! Sorry for the delay...we had some technical difficulties getting me back in the system.

English classes - 1st, 4th, 6th, 7th periods;

Monday - Wednesday: We will be covering capitalization in our textbook and workbook. We will have a short quiz on capitalization and ending punctuation on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday, we will cover the 8 parts of speech in class. Students will receive a handout to study. Test on these next week.
*Don't forget that we do DOL each day. Students do this in class, we check it in class, they can fix their mistakes in class, and then on Friday, I take this DOL sheet up for a grade....SHOULD be an easy 100, huh?! You'd think so, but several students are not taking the time to correct their mistakes and are thus turning in a less than perfect paper. Doesn't make much sense to me!

Language Arts classes - 2nd & 5th periods:

Monday - We will be going back to the library/computer lab to complete our trading card activity.
Tuesday - We will preview a poem - "The Raven" and go over elements of poetry; we will begin Vocabulary Workshop - Unit 1, words 1-10
Wednesday - We will read the poem; voc. wksp - synonyms
Thursday - We will complete workbook pages and complete a study guide; voc. wksp. - antonyms; homework - look over "The Raven" study guide for test; study vocab. wksp. Unit 1, wds. 1-10 for test
Friday - test on the poem and test on Vocabulary Workshop words 1-10 (spelling and definitions)
