Good Hope Middle School Daily Announcements

Congratulations to the following students who were recognized for showing good Character under the Character Counts Pillar of RESPECT.
6th Grade: Elliott Terrall and Anna Ferchaud
7th Grade: Mallori Taylor and Brandy Williams
8th Grade: Laurie Graves, Bryan Petree, and Jewell Smith

Our new Character Counts Pillar for this six weeks is CARING. A caring person feels responsible for others, and his environment. A person of caring displays compassion and concern for the world around him. Everyday we see students at Good Hope caring about each other, their school and community.

Starting today, we will be looking for students who come to school every day. At the end of the six weeks, everyone who has perfect attendance will have their name placed in a box. One sixth grade name, one seventh grade name, and one eighth grade name will be drawn to win a super prize. Remember all you have to do to win is come to school!!!

NO GIRLS SOCCER PRACTICE TODAY!!!

WASHINGTON D.C. TRIP - There are still a few spots available. Remember 7th graders, this trip is every other year. Therefore the Washington D.C. trip will not be offered next year. Sign up now! See Mrs. Dean! You do not want to miss out on this fantastic trip!!!

8th grade girls 48-4
7th grade boys leading scorer was LaDarrian Williams with 11 points.
8th grade boys 54-23 - LaDarius Abrams led with 10 points.

The Colonels host Mangham Thursday.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY - Members will meet tomorrow morning (Tues.) at 7:30 in the library. All members need to attend this meeting.
Remember those participating in Operation Christmas Child should plan to stay after school this Thursday Nov. 11th.

PEP SQUAD - The red team will perform tonight at the game. You need to be in the bleachers at 6:00.

There will be a softball meeting after school on Wednesday, Nov. 10th until 4:00. Make sure someone in here to pick you up. Basketball players need to come by Ms. Dillingham's classroom on Thursday to get information.

Congratulations to the Good Hope Cheerleaders and Drill Team on a super performance Saturday at half time of the ULM football game. They performed with the ULM "Sound of Today" band, ULM Warbonnets and the ULM Cheerleaders. Thanks for the great job by all of you!

Congratulations to the 7th grade boys basketball team for their overtime win against Ruston 34-33. Ladarrin Williams led all scorers with 9 points. Come watch the Colonels play here Monday against Woodlawn.

FCA Banquet will be held Tuesday Night, Nov. 9, at the West Monroe Civic Center. Come and enjoy an evening of food, fun, and fellowship. There will be skits, songs, testimonies and plenty of barbecue to go around. Admission is free but we must have a count of who is going. Please give Coach Brothers or one of the counselors your name if you would like to attend. We must know today by 2:00.

Congratulations to the following Colonel Choir members on their selecion to the ACDA National Honor Choir: Layci Gray, R.T. Gilbert, and Rosa Rivas were chosen from thousands of entries across the entire nation. They will perform on Feb. 6th in Los Angeles, CA. Way to go Colonels!!!

Yearbook orders will be taken Nov. 1 -12th. Cost is $30.00.

NO LEAP TURORING THIS WEEK!

Pep squad practice is Thursday after school from 3-4. Turn in all Colonel Card money on that day.

Yearbook orders will be taken during the first two weeks of November (1st - 12th)

Cost is $30.00 - The entire yearbook is in color this year. Your name will be embossed on the front cover. Also, you can buy personal ads to be placed in the yearbook. See Mrs. Starr for details.

RED RIBBON WEEK - THE WINNERS IN YESTERDAY'S FREE THROW CONTEST WERE: ASHLEE ALBRITTON, BROOK MCNEELY, AND JOSH FOREMAN

Pals wants to thank all of our students and teachers who are participating in the BOXTOPS FOR EDUCATION. Remember we will collect BOXTOPS throughout the school year. This six weeks Ms. Young turned in the most BOXTOPS. Ms. Young won a $25.00 WalMart gift card courtesy of PALS.

RED RIBBON WEEK - THURSDAY IS "TEAM UP AGAINST DRUGS" Wear your favorite team shirt. Students will have the opportunity to shoot free throws in P.E. The overall boy and girl winner will receive a prize.

FACS bake sale will be held today after lunch. The cost is 50 cents for one bag of cookes. Don't forget your money!!

PEP SQUAD - Don't forget practice tomorrow in the cafeteria from 3-4.

Congratulations Good Hope Middle School Student of the Year - Mallory Debnam

Today begins our Red Ribbon Week!!! Tomorrow is "Hats off to Being Drug Free". If you would like to wear a hat tomorrow, bring a canned food item to your homeroom teacher.
Remember to wear your Red Ribbon All Week - Names will be drawn for prizes and you must be wearing your ribbon to receive a Prize!!! Let's be DRUG FREE and proud of it!!!!
