RED RIBBON WEEK ACTIVITIES
WEDNESDAY: TEAM UP AGAINST DRUGS DAY. STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO DRESS LIKE A FRIEND TO SHOW UNITY AND A TEAM EFFORT TO STOP DRUG USE.

THURSDAY: HAT DAY IN HONOR OF "HATS OFF FOR DRUGS".
THERE IS ONE STIPULATION FOR EACH STUDENT WANTING TO WEAR A HAT ON THURSDAY. YOU MUST BRING 5 CANNED FOOD ITEMS IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN HAT DAY. BRING YOUR CANS TO YOUR HOMEROOM TEACHER SO THAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO WEAR YOUR HAT. NO CANS.......NO HAT!!!!!!!! HATS MUST ALSO BE WORN IN THE CORRECT MANNER.

FRIDAY: "SUIT UP AGAINST DRUGS DAY". WEAR YOUR FAVORITE TEAM'S SHIRT. CAFETERIA WILL HELP US CELEBRATE BY SERVING "RED CAKE" TO CELEBRATE RED RIBBON WEEK.

RED RIBBON WEEK!! REMEMBER TO WEAR YOUR RED RIBBON ALL WEEK.

Soccer tryouts today!

Boys basketball tryouts Monday and Tuesday!
6th & 7th graders will tryout from 3-4:15. Have someone to pick you up at 4:30.
8th graders will tryout from 4:30 -5:45. Have someone to pick you up no later than 6:00 p.m. Monday will be the first cut and Tuesday will be the final cut.

Congratulations to our 7th/8th grade boys cross country team for winning 1st place in the meet Saturday at ULM. Congratulations, also to our 6th grade boys for placing 2nd.
Individual winners were:
7th/8th grade boys: Jake Elliott 2nd place, Matthew Wilson 6th place, Adam Saadat 10th place, and Levi Elliott 13th place.
6th grade boys: Ben Tuttle 5th place and Dillon Nelson 7th place.
6th grade girls: Katie Bryan 3rd place and Sarah Counts 4th place.

Congratulations to the following students who have been recognized for demonstrating Excellect Character under the Character Counts Pillar RESPONSIBILITY.
6th Grade: Samara Myers
7th Grade: Molli Crain, Ashley Hamel and Emily Russo

7th Grade finished 7-1
8th Grade finished 7-0-1. This gives them a 2 year record of 15-0-1. The were UNDEFEATED!!!!! WAY TO GO COLONELS!!!!!

Congratulations to the Winners in the Miss Good Hope Contest held yesterday!!! Everyone looked stunning!!

Congratulations to our boys 7th and 8th grade cross country team for placing 2nd in our meet yesterday.
Individual winners were 6th graders Sarah Counts 5th place, Maggie Sylvester 6th place, Katie Bryan 9th place, Ben Tuttle 5th place, Nick Hendrix 9th place.
8th grade winnders were Jake Elliott 2nd place and Josh Pearce 6th place.

After school tutoring begins today.

REMEMBER: Bring canned food items to your homeroom teacher. Our school came in 2nd last year in the area. We want to be 1st this year. Please help by bringing your cans.

Pep Squad practice today after school. Parent pick-up at 5:00.
All pep squad members need to go by Ms. Sellar's room to sign up for the red or blue team no later than 3:00 Tuesday.

REPORT CARDS GO HOME TODAY!!!!

All boys interested in trying out for basketball should bring their report cards to Coach Brothers and sign up during P.E. All participants should be prepared for tryouts on Oct. 24-25. 6th & 7th graders will try out from 3:00-4:15 and the 8th graders will try out from 4:30-5:30.

Congratulations to our cross-country teams. Our 6th grade boys and 7th and 8th grade boys won runner-up in our meet at Cedar Creek Saturday. Individual winners were Maggie Sylvester 3rd place, Sarah Counts 5th place, Ben Tuttle 4th place, Dillon Nelson 9th place, Nick Hendricks 10th place, Josh Pearce 7th place, Matthew Wilson 8th place, and Jake Elliott 1st place.
