For the week of January 3-7:

*We are beginning 'Daily Social Studies'
in class today. Students are to keep it
in their binder at all times. They will
be given open-book pop quizes on it.

*Daily Geography Test on weeks 13-16 on
Friday.

*Advanced classes only-- tsunami map due
on Friday.

For the week of Dec. 13-16:

*Study guides will be checked in
class on Monday.
*The SS mid-term test is on Wednesday.

For the week of Dec. 6-10:

*There will be no tests this week
to study for-- only graded class
activities.

*Mid-term study guides will be given
out on Thursday in class. The test
is Wed., Dec. 15.

*All adopt-a-family gifts need to be
brought by Thursday. Thanks for your
help with this!

For the week of Nov.29- Dec.3:

*We will be doing several activities in
class this week for a grade.

*Daily Geography test (on weeks 9-12)
on Thursday.

*Don't forget about our adopt-a-family
project-- see the note sent home for
more details.

For the week of Nov.15- 19:

*It is finally here! Social Studies Fair
set-up time is Monday from 5-7 P.M.
Public viewing time is Tuesday from 1:30-2:30.

*There will be no tests to study for this week.
We will have map tests.

*No homework this week!!!

*For homeroom students:
Operation Christmas Child due by this Wednesday.
Ballet money is due by Thursday.

For the week of November 8-12:

*Drawing of S.S. Fair display board is due
on Wednesday. The sheet to draw it on is
in the fair folder.

*Students are to finish their display board
this week. Set-up time for the projects is
next Monday from 5-7 P.M.

*Project speeches will be done for the class
on Friday and next Monday.

*Last day to order yearbooks is this Friday!

For the week of Nov. 1-5:

*Students should be working on their
S.S. Fair display board. We have gone
over what should be on their board.
Please refer to the folder for specific
information.

*Chapter 2 lesson 1 vocabulary test on
Thursday. This will be the last grade
for this grading period!

*Bring cans for our canned food drive!

*Due to me having to be out 2 days last week,
I extended the due date for the SS Fair report
to Wed., Oct.27. (I did not send out the phone
message- sorry for the confusion!)

*We will be working on bibliography entries in
class for those that have questions.

*Daily Geog. test (on weeks 4-8) on Thursday.

*Don't forget to participate in Red Ribbon
activities this week!

For the week of October 18- 22:

*Students should be working on their
research paper that is due next Monday.

*We will be working on a 'Skara Brae'
project in class at the beginning of
this week. Some students may have to
bring it home to complete it. This is
due on Thursday.

*Chapter 1 test will be on Friday. We
will review in class, but students may
read the chapter again to help them
study.

*Students need to be working on writing their
research report. We did an outline in class
for them to follow, but they need to do the
writing at home. I suggest that they write
a section at a time, and not try to 'cram' it
all in on one night!
