Homework for the week of October 10, 2005
Mood:  cool
How exciting to see my favorite season approaching! Fall - finally a break from the hot muggy weather!
This week in 6th grade we are doing black wax resist with watercolor. Students need to bring ziploc bag of leaves (not crunchy) from home for Tuesday. Try to bring several different sizes and shapes if possible.
7th grade is finishing up treasure boxes this week and we will begin a sculpture unit next.
8th grade is finishing up portfolios and will begin sculpture unit next.

If anyone can donate pumpkins for a 7th and 8th grade project, that would be great, and greatly appreciated!

I am checking all work for the six weeks thus far this week and thursday progress reports will be going out. I will be reminding students in class!

Have a wonderful week!

Homework for week of 1/24-1/28/05
Mood:  rushed
I find myself wondering all of a sudden where the first half of the year went! It has flown by!
This semester the 6th and 7th graders are working on art history studies. We concentrate on the story of an artist and then discover their artistic style by doing a project based on one of their famous works. I try to pick only the most interesting artists for them to learn about. We have tests on the information after finishing the projects. I give study guides and I review with the students daily to make sure that they have the information down.
Right now we are on Picasso and we will probably have the test on Wednesday or Thursday, depending on when they finish their projects.

Have a great week!

Homework for the week of 10/18/04
Mood:  incredulous
Parents, please forgive me for not posting homework last week! I was absent on Monday, but there was NO homework. It was great meeting you all at open house on Tuesday! I sent home a note on Friday to inform those of you whose children sold cookie dough that cookie dough will arrive on Friday, October 22. The cookie dough will need to be picked up AFTER school! I will stay here until 4:15 to insure you enough time after school to pick up the cookie dough in my room (Rm # 104). Also, progress reports are going home on Thursday. Otherwise, no homework! Thank you for allowing me to spend each day with your wonderful children!
