During the week of March 14th - March 18th, 8th grade students will take the state mandated LEAP test. These tests affect these students and our school in a number of ways. First, in order to be promoted to the 9th grade, the Language Arts and Math portions of the test must be passed. Second, each student's performance on these tests will be reflected in the Good Hope Middle School Performance Score for the 2004-2005 school year. This score compares our middle school with other middle schools in the parish and state. Third, the LEAP scores play a major role in the placement of students at the high school level in English and Math courses.
For these important reasons, a group of Good Hope teachers will provide a free LEAP review for your child during the times and dates below. We strongly urge that all of our 8th grade students take advantage of this wonderful review time.
A Power Hour Letter will go home with all 8th grade students today. Please fill out the form at the bottom of the letter and return it to the school no later than Wed., March 2nd.
We at Good Hope Middle School are committed to providing our students with the best possible education. Parents, encourage your child to attend both sessions of this excellent review opportunity.
